What was the deal with pythagorean theorem? I should have learned the glycemic index!
The definition of ‘glycemic index’ is defined as how quickly your blood sugar rises after you ingest carbohydrates. So you can easily notice when it is that you've ingested carbohydrates because after you ingest carbohydrates your energy crashes and you start craving sugar again. Once you actually really start lowering your carbohydrate intake you can actually start to feel this happening. You can actually really start to taste the sugar in what it is that you’re eating because once you stop eating a high sugar diet then the taste of the carbohydrates actually becomes noticeable. The taste that you will notice, becomes like an aftertaste that is not exactly pleasant. If you eat a high glycemic diet then you will be constantly feeling a glycemic rush. So what is a diet consist of that constitutes the glycemic rush? So how often do you, Drink soft drinks, fruit juices, or sweetened drink? Eat sweet snack, cakes, pies, cookies, ice cream? Use canned or frozen fruits packed in heavy syrup? Add sugar to your cereal or other food? Add sugar to coffee or tea? Or drink hot chocolate? Eat candy? Use jam jelly or honey on bread? Eat refined breads, tortillas, white rice Eat brown breads or whole grain breads Have rolls or pastry or pie crust? Eat low fibre or sweetened cereals? Eat granola, yogurt? Or eat to feel uncomfortable full? These foods constitute the glycemic rush. If you eat or do any of those things above, your diet is high in foods that stimulate that quick increase in blood sugar which could be followed by an increase in blood insulin and increase in blood sugar. If you have a pattern of eating these processed sugary foods or in just constantly overeating, may result in an increased risk of insulin resistance, moodiness or energy lows. Reducing the amount of these foods you eat supports your low carb journey. It’s not that the emotionally focused eating program is saying that you can’t eat them, it’s just that what I have learned and am now saying is that you have to eat them in not just moderation, but extreme moderation because ever single time you eat any of these foods you are actually hosting a party, you are having a glycemic rush celebration which destroys your ability to pay attention to your internal hunger cues and they will work against you in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This is the way I was fooling myself. Thinking that I could still eat all of these foods just in daily moderation. Trust me, it doesn’t work. There is no such thing as daily moderation where these foods are concerned.
