Can’t Avoids.
I didn’t realize that we each have something called a cannabinoid system which are hormones that hinder the ability of insulin to push sugar into your cells. So what happens when it is that you eat, yet your body doesn’t sense that it’s been fed? Your brain still gets the signal to keep eating because it senses that you’re still hungry. If the brain doesn’t get that signal, then people with a haywire cannabinoid system keep eating and eating and eating and as a result keep gaining and gaining and gaining. So if you are the type of person who feels like you do everything right and you feel like you can’t stop eating and your scale stays the same and so do the numbers on your tape measure, then this might be an issue, because this cannabinoid system has a huge influence on your body. So the question is, how do you gain control of it? And the answer is to work on eliminating omental fat. Omental fat is the fat around your waist which piles up between your organs and is the fat that hangs off of you around your stomach. So decreasing the carbohydrates that you intake reduces the amount of cannabinoids that reap hormonal havoc. What are the other hidden causes of weight gain? Abnormal thyroid levels slows down your metabolism so that you can’t burn the calories as much as you need to lose weight. Polycystic ovarian disease has a form of insulin resistance which also reaps hormonal havoc. Menopause and andropause results in less muscle mass which means it’s harder to burn fat. Growth hormone levels can decrease the older you get which also too can lead to weight gain. Also, the medications you take can work against you by increasing your appetite, which will lead to weight gain or by making you so tired that you just can’t burn the calories. Viruses and other infections have a tendency to reduce energy, your immune system becomes vulnerable and you feel exhausted most of the time. Also, sleep problems weaken the energy you have and your immune system, making you feel more tired. Too little sleep or poor quality sleep tends to lead to more body pain draining energy. We also have an adrenal gland system. When this system is off, you can feel so ravens and irritable that if you don’t have something to eat immediately, you feel that you’re going to die. Any type of pain (emotional or physical) that your body is experiencing diverts your energy. So pain and lack of energy are warning signals that you need to be paying attention to. These factors maybe standing in the way of losing weight. So if you are not losing weight as easily as you might think you ought to be, then the answer is to pay stricter attention to your carbohydrate intake. You might need to shock your system into ketosis just as I am having to do to overcome my body’s need to hold onto fat.
